A former secondary school teacher who duped a 13-year-old girl into sending him 57 nude photos and videos was sentenced to 22 months in jail on Friday (7 October).
Kuang Liang Yong, a 47-year-old married man with two children, pretended to be a man with erectile dysfunction with the aim of gaining sympathy from the girl, according to a report by The Straits Times.
Through his deception, Kuang was able to get her to send the nude photos and videos to him in 2012 and 2013.
The prosecution told the court that in early 2012, Kuang was in Sun Plaza in Sembawang with his family when he met his victim, the report said. At a games arcade, he overheard her mentioning that her mobile phone was missing.While letting her use his phone to try locating the missing phone, Kuang saved her number without her knowing as he found her “adorable”, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Amanda Chong Wei-Zhen.
Assuming the identify of “Sean Romeo”, Kuang began contacting the victim via WhatsApp and sent her messages over a period of almost two years.
Along the way, “Sean Romeo” told the victim that he was unable to have sex due to a motor accident. Pretending to be suicidal because of his “condition”, the victim felt sorry for Kuang and was persuaded to send him three nude photos of herself.
Less than a month later, Kuang pressured her to send him more nude photos of herself and videos of her doing a sexual act.
Kuang also separately stalked a 12-year-old girl via Whatsapp messages in 2015. Pretending to be a Primary 6 boy, he sent her long messages to declare his love for the Pretending to be a Primary 6 boy, he sent her long messages to declare his love for the second victim, the report added.
His offences surfaced when the second victim’s father filed a police report as his daughter had been having a conversation over Whatsapp with an unknown person listed as “Guardian Angel” in her contacts.
Before sentencing, District Judge Terence Tay slammed Kuang for his reprehensive agenda of sexually exploiting a young girl. The judge was also disturbed by Kuang’s attempt to ask the victim for the phone numbers of three other girls.
Kuang was also fined $500 for behaving in a disorderly manner while ten charges were taken into consideration for sentencing. YAHOO
